The 29th Vattenfall BERLIN HALF MARATHON is Making Great Strides
Dear Runners,
After we have survived the long, dark winter months, the days are getting
longer, and the classic Vattenfall Berlin Half Marathon provides you with
the opportunity to test your stamina for the upcoming season. If things
go well for you here, a great running year is certain to lie ahead. If the
race goes less than optimally, things can only get better. Whatever the
case, for more than 25,000 participants, the 29th Vattenfall Berlin Half
Marathon on Sunday, April 5, 2009, is all about the start of the season
and sightseeing in the city. The mix of world-class athletes and amateur
runners, of show and entertainment adds to the special appeal
of this attractive course through the city. Not only are the winning
times of the elite African athletes world-class, but the enthusiasm of
the over 150,000 fans along the course is too. In addition to the top
athletic performances, numerous bands and artists add cultural appeal.
The new and more spacious finish area around Alexanderplatz has
proven itself well. The Neptune Fountain is a perfect meeting place
both before and after the race for both the runners and their fans.
We wish you a fantastic weekend in Berlin and lots of fun and success at the 29th Vattenfall Berlin Half Marathon.
